City Road Signs

Located in the mountain region of Utah, this rural smaller community needed an entry sign at either end of town. Design cues were provided by the customer as to colors, size of lettering and color. After several design revisions, agreement was reached by the City Planners. A photo of a large mountain near the town was to be the focal point of the carving. A posterized version of this mountain was created then carved and painted into the sign.

The two signs are free standing units supported by cedar posts, topped off by decorative finials. Two lateral cedar boards were affixed as backing. The ends of the boards are protruding on each side and provide mortised fixing points to the posts.
