Hanging Sign
Sizing was critical for these two monument signs, The two smaller brick structures incorporated a protruding brick frame within the facia. The main wall of the monument was enclosed by two brick columns. A simple installation method was used employing the use of "French Cleats". Two double lap joints strips of lumber are attached to back of sign. Each half section is screwed into wall. The sign is centered on wall, then dropped into place.
Some brick or stone monuments feature curved facias. In this case, signs are attached to the wall by using screws applied directly through the face of the sign. Screw holes are placed into sign face prior to installation. Pocket holes are drilled surrounding main screw holes, this allows screw heads to be set below surface of sign. After sign is installed, screw holes are covered with Bondo Auto Filler, sanded and painted.
